AUN students participate in the community projects that help bring needed food aid aid shelter, provide supplemental education lessons and skill-training, support peace-building and improve infrastructure. One student who exemplifies this mission is Ms. Murna Mamman, who completed the expansion of the labor room at the decades-old Wuro Hausa Dispensary in Yola.

The Center takes care of approximately 10,000 patients. Previously, the Center only had a small labor room, which could barely accommodate one patient and one midwife. Mamman’s project has helped in creating a bigger room to facilitate more comfortable and safe deliveries.

The Matron of Wuro Hausa, Ms. Rose John, expressed her thanks for the completed project.“AUN students always come here to give us supplies and other things and it makes us happy to know that there are people who care.”
